Prof. John COLEMAN

Professor John A. Coleman, S.J. is the Charles Casassa Professor of Social Values, Department of Theological Studies, Loyola Marymount University. He is a specialist in Sociology of Religion, Catholic Social Thought and Social Theory. He is the author of One Hundred Years of Catholic Social Teaching, Reading the Signs of the Times, Religion and Nationalism, Globalization and Catholic Social Thought, etc. He was invited to give speeches in a series of seminars from May 18 to 24, 2006 by the Centre for Catholic Studies on Catholic Social Teachings and social participation of the Catholic Church in the civil society, and to share his research on religion and society.

Prof. Felix WILFRED

Rev. Dr. Felix Wilfred is the Chair, Department of Christian Studies, University of Madras. He was a member of the International Theological Commission of the Vatican; Secretary of the Theological Advisory Commission of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC) and president of the Indian Theological Association. His research and field-studies cut across many disciplines in humanities and social sciences. Some of his publications in the field of theology are: On the Banks of Ganges (2002), Asian Dreams and Christian Hope (2000), From the Dusty Soil: Re-interpretation of Christianity (1995). He was invited by the Centre for Catholic Studies to give seminars on Catholic Social Teachings and evangelization, and contributions of Christianity in pluralistic societies from June 20 to 24, 2006.

Prof. WANG Zhicheng

Dr. Wang Zhicheng is a professor of the Department of Philosophy, Zhejiang University. His research interests include religious pluralism and inter-religious dialogue, Christian ethics and contemporary society, etc. He is invited by the Centre for Catholic Studies to conduct a research project on comparing the theologies of James L. Fredericks and Francis X. Clooney from July 3 to August 31, 2006.

Prof. QI Yinping

Dr. Qi Yingping is a professor of the Department of Philosophy, Zhejiang University. He research interests include the history of Jesuit Society in East Asia. He is invited by the Centre to give lectures and conduct research on a Jesuit missionary in China in the 16th century, from September to December 2006.

Prof. WU Boya

吳伯婭教授(Professor Wu Boya)畢業於武漢大學歷史系,現為中國社會科學院歷史研究所研究員及研究生院教授。曾參與國家重點項目《清代全史》、《清代人物傳稿》等書的寫作,並著有有關天主教研究的論文廿餘篇。吳教授於200611月到中文大學進行一項研究,主要是有關乾隆年間的天主教情況,特別是乾隆帝對天主教的認識及其政策。

Dr. ZHOU Pingping

周萍萍博士(Dr. Zhou Pingping)畢業於南京大學歷史系,現為清華大學哲學系博士後研究員。 她曾參與有關明末清初來華教士的「適應」傳教策略,以及明清間入華耶穌會士和信教民眾方面的研究。曾發表十餘篇論文。200610月至11月中,周博士會在天主教研究中心進行一項研究工作,主要是以平民百姓和婦女為對象,探討明清間入華傳教士與江南信徒的關係。
